With 271 million people and an average age of just 31, Indonesia is young, vibrant, and undergoing an ecommerce revolution.

The most populous country in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is experiencing significant growth in the areas of ecommerce, mobile payments, and digital wallets, and this is largely attributed to the young tech-savvy population. 60% of internet users gain access through smartphones, and mobile wallets like Dana, Paypal, and DOKU are rapidly growing in popularity.

Though the outlook is bright, there is still work to do for Indonesia’s population to make the digital transformation; only 50% of the population is online, 48% have a bank account, and card penetration is less than 20%.
