As in other Baltic states, the domestic banking market is dominated by the banks from Sweden. According to the bank of Latvia, the central bank, the Latvian e-payment mix is dominated by cards, bank transfer, wallets and cash-on-delivery. 45% people prefer to pay by bank cards while the majority pays by cash and opt for offline terminals.

Yandex.Money has joined forces with Baltic Payment Solutions to offer users to top up their Yandex.Money accounts and pay for services through 74 payment kiosks in Latvia.

Latvia joined the Euro area in 2014, 61% of the inhabitants are Latvian, 26% are Russians.
